Scripture Reading: Psalm 126 KJV

[[A Song of degrees.]] When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream. Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The LORD hath done great things for them. The LORD hath done great things for us; [whereof] we are glad. Turn again our captivity, O LORD, as the streams in the south. They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves [with him].

God’s been dealing with me recently regarding the timing of what I believe I’ve already received from Him through Christ. As I was seeking Him yesterday on the “timeline” of it all all I was told to: “Rejoice! And I say again: Exceedingly Rejoice! It is already done!”. Easy for Him to say.

I sought council from my good friend in Canada. She’s like a momma type to me and figured she would have the answer I need on how to empty my head of what is going on and just relax and rejoice. The council was this: do what God said. Okay…Apparently, she struggles with that to and wanted to know when I get an answer to how to do it, to let her know. So, I asked God to help me.

Meantime…

My lovely 4-year-old Angela Luz asked me for milk. Sounds easy enough, except I already told her that I would give it to her at 6PM since she just ate. She smiled and said okay and went off to the bedroom. Five minutes later she re-emerged to ask me again. This is how the conversation went:

Me: Angie, what time is it?

Angie: It’s 5-4-3, mommie.

Me: Is it 6-0-0?

Angie: No. Me:

What did mommie say?

Angie: I can have milk at 6-0-0 and not before.

Me: Okay? Than why are you asking? I told you yes, but you need to wait a little bit. You just ate. Do you want a little water?

Angie: No, thank you. Okay; I’ll wait. Bye…

And off she went to the bedroom. This happened 2 more times. Meanwhile, Alexander, my one-and-a-half year old wanted milk because he heard his sister ask for it. I told him the same thing. He smiled and we kept on playing. I asked Angie if she wanted to join us, but she was too preoccupied with trying to push the timeline for the milk that she wasn’t interested. When it was 6PM she came to ask me again. As I was going to the kitchen I said “How can God not get annoyed with us asking the SAME question over and over? HE already said yes!”… Oh…ouch. Got it. The whole time Angie was asking for milk it was already hers. I just couldn’t give it to her because I knew her body couldn’t handle it. She thought that by being persistent and adorable she could move me, but she couldn’t. I already decided because I knew what was best for her. On the other hand was Alex, who understood that I would give it to him later, just enjoyed my company. Tenacity is a good thing. But we need to remember it has its place. If you’ve done all you need to do and you have a check in your spirit that all is done and to just rejoice in the Lord of it, then let it go! Angie lost time with me she can never get back because she choose to try to move the timeline. By all means be tenacious. But be wise as well. Don’t let what will happen ruin the great “play time” you can have with God right now.
